
A quick, winter-warming dessert.
Core a couple of apples (without peeling them). Slice into medium-thick slices.
In a large pan add a large knob of butter and melt on a medium-high heat. Add the apple slices and swirl around to coat. Cook for 3-4 minutes till the slices start to soften.
Sprinkle the slices with a little sugar, cover with a lid and cook for another 2 minutes or so. Remove the lid, flip over the apple slices and continue cooking till the slices are nice and caramelised on both sides.
Serve immediately with a dollop of crème fraiche or clotted cream (optional).
